What is CVE-2025-55161?

Stirling-PDF, a web application designed for processing PDF files, has a security flaw in its PDF conversion endpoint. In versions before 1.1.0, the application uses a third-party tool for Markdown to PDF conversion. However, the security measures in place for sanitization can be bypassed, leading to potential server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerabilities. This flaw could allow malicious actors to exploit the system, resulting in unauthorized access to internal network resources. The issue has been addressed in version 1.1.0 with a patch that reinforces the sanitization process.
