Denial of Service Vulnerability in Part-DB Inventory Management System

What is CVE-2025-55194?
Part-DB, an open-source inventory management system for electronic components, contains a vulnerability that allows authenticated users to upload profile pictures with misleading file extensions, such as .jpg.txt. This results in a persistent 500 Internal Server Error, rendering the affected user's profile permanently inaccessible through the user interface for both the individual user and administrators, effectively causing a denial of service within the user management interface. This issue has been addressed in version 1.17.3.
