What is CVE-2025-55289?

Chamilo LMS prior to version 1.11.34 is susceptible to a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. This flaw allows attackers to inject arbitrary JavaScript code into the platform's social network and internal messaging features. When an authenticated user, including administrators, views this content, the injected payload executes within their browser, enabling potential full account takeover. Attackers can hijack sessions, perform unauthorized actions with user privileges, access sensitive data, and create pathways for propagating attacks to other users. To mitigate this issue, users are advised to upgrade to Chamilo LMS version 1.11.34.
