What is CVE-2025-55653?

GPAC MP4Box version 2.4 is susceptible to a floating point exception vulnerability occurring in the gf_parse_lfrac function found in utils/error.c. This issue arises when a specially crafted MP4 file is processed, particularly when it contains a zero-denominator fraction string. The inadequate handling of this input leads to a divide by zero situation, resulting in the termination of the process with a SIGFPE signal. This can disrupt video processing and potentially expose systems to further exploitation.
