Hardcoded Credential Vulnerability in Reolink Desktop Application

What is CVE-2025-56801?
The Reolink Desktop Application version 8.18.12 has a security flaw that involves hardcoded credentials within its AES-CFB encryption mechanism. This vulnerability allows attackers who gain access to the application environment to decrypt sensitive configuration data easily. Despite the supplier’s assertion that these materials are not hardcoded and are randomly generated during installation, the implications of the vulnerability remain significant and could lead to unauthorized access to user data.
