CVE-2025-57769
What is CVE-2025-57769?
FreshRSS is a popular self-hosted RSS aggregator that has reported a design flaw in versions prior to 1.27.0. The vulnerability allows an attacker to deceive users into executing arbitrary JavaScript code. By exploiting iframe embedding capabilities, malicious actors can obscure key UI elements, such as the 'promote user' button, resulting in unauthorized user elevation. Additionally, users may be manipulated to drag content into the UserJS text area, leading to Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) exploits. FreshRSS has addressed this issue in version 1.27.0, recommending immediate updates for affected users.
