What is CVE-2025-58158?

The Open Source Harness Gitness has a vulnerability that allows an authenticated user to exploit the file upload functionality. This flaw arises from inadequate sanitization in the upload path when interacting with the git LFS server API. As a result, a malicious user can craft a specific upload request that enables writing arbitrary files to any filesystem location, thereby potentially compromising the server. This security risk impacts all users operating versions prior to 3.3.0. Users are urged to upgrade to secure their environments effectively. The issue has been addressed and patched in version 3.3.0.
