A vulnerability exists in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved that may allow unauthenticated attackers to disrupt device availability. This occurs when a specific malformed optional BGP attribute is received over an existing session, leading to its incorrect modification. Peers that detect this malformed attribute may terminate BGP sessions, causing significant routing disruptions and availability impacts on affected devices.
