What is CVE-2025-60012?
The vulnerability in Apache Livy allows for unauthorized file access due to improper handling of Spark configuration values. When connected to Apache Spark versions 3.1 or later, requests that include specific Spark configurations can grant users access to files outside of their permission scope. This issue arises when users can utilize the REST or JDBC interface to send arbitrary configurations. To mitigate this risk, users are advised to upgrade to Apache Livy version 0.9.0 or above, which addresses the vulnerability.
