What is CVE-2025-62261?

The Liferay Portal and DXP products contain a significant vulnerability wherein password reset tokens are stored in plain text format. This flaw exists across several versions of Liferay Portal (7.4.0 to 7.4.3.99, and older unsupported releases) and Liferay DXP (2023.Q3.1 to 2023.Q3.4, and earlier versions). Attackers with direct database access could potentially extract these tokens, enabling them to reset the associated user passwords and gain unauthorized access to user accounts.
