Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in Wazuh Threat Detection Platform
CVE-2025-62790
What is CVE-2025-62790?
A vulnerability in Wazuh prior to version 4.11.0 affects its ability to handle agent messages. Specifically, the fim_fetch_attributes_state() function lacks a proper check for NULL values before invoking the strlen() function. This oversight opens up the potential for an attacker to craft a malicious agent message, leading to a crash of the analysisd component. As a result, this can render the Wazuh analysis service unavailable, impacting the overall threat prevention and detection capabilities of the platform. Users are advised to upgrade to version 4.11.0 or later to mitigate this issue.
