What is CVE-2025-64108?

The Cursor Code Editor, in versions 1.7.44 and earlier, has a vulnerability stemming from various NTFS path quirks that allow an attacker to perform prompt injections. This security flaw can enable unauthorized modification of sensitive files that the editor traditionally protects, allowing attackers to overwrite files without human consent. Such modifications may open pathways to remote code execution (RCE) when combined with malicious inputs or models. This issue exclusively affects systems utilizing NTFS file systems and has been resolved in version 2.0.
