Data Exposure Vulnerability in Grist Spreadsheet Hosting Server
CVE-2025-64753
What is CVE-2025-64753?
The grist-core spreadsheet hosting server has a vulnerability that allows users with only partial read access to access sensitive information. This issue enables them to see version hashes and a complete list of changes made to a document, including data in cells, columns, or tables they shouldn't have access to. The flaw was addressed in version 1.7.7, which restricts access to the /compare endpoint to users with full read permissions. To mitigate the issue before updating, users are advised to either remove sensitive document history through the /states/remove endpoint or block access to the /compare endpoint altogether.
