Null Pointer Dereference Vulnerability in Cesanta Mongoose
CVE-2025-65502
4.3MEDIUM
What is CVE-2025-65502?
A null pointer dereference vulnerability exists in the add_ca_certs() function of Cesanta Mongoose prior to version 7.2. This flaw allows remote attackers to trigger a denial of service condition during TLS initialization when the SSL_CTX_get_cert_store() function returns a NULL value. As a result, the application may crash or become unresponsive, impacting the availability of services reliant on Mongoose for secure communications. Users are advised to update to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
