What is CVE-2025-66204?

The WBCE CMS version 1.6.4 contains a significant vulnerability that allows attackers to bypass brute-force protection mechanisms. By manipulating the 'X-Forwarded-For' header with each request, an attacker can reset the password guessing counter indefinitely, resulting in unlimited attempts to crack user passwords. This vulnerability arises from the application's failure to validate the 'X-Forwarded-For' header, leading to potential unauthorized access. This issue has been addressed in the updated version, 1.6.5, where proper validations have been implemented to mitigate such risks.
