SQL Injection Vulnerability in ChurchCRM Open Source System
CVE-2025-66396
What is CVE-2025-66396?
In the ChurchCRM open-source church management system, prior to version 6.5.3, a significant SQL injection vulnerability exists within the src/UserEditor.php file. This vulnerability allows a malicious or compromised administrator, when saving user configuration settings, to execute arbitrary SQL commands due to improper sanitization of the type POST parameter array. Specifically, the keys are not adequately validated before being used in SQL queries, creating opportunities for time-based blind SQL injection attacks. Consequently, this flaw can lead to unauthorized database interactions, enabling attackers to bypass logging protections, manipulate sensitive data, and potentially escalate their access within the system, contingent on database configuration and user privileges. Version 6.5.3 addresses this issue effectively.
