What is CVE-2025-67487?

The Static Web Server (SWS) is susceptible to a vulnerability that permits the creation of symbolic links (symlinks) leading to unauthorized access of files outside the designated web root. This occurs because SWS does not adequately restrict symlinks from escaping its root directory. A malicious actor with access to the server's root directory can exploit this flaw to access sensitive information either through URLs or directory listings. Users are advised to update to version 2.40.1, which addresses this issue effectively.
