Jenkins versions up to 2.540, including LTS versions 2.528.2 and earlier, improperly store build authorization tokens in the job config.xml files. This unencrypted storage allows users with Item/Extended Read permissions or anyone with access to the Jenkins controller file system to view these tokens. The exposure of such sensitive information poses a significant risk, potentially allowing unauthorized users to execute builds or gain further access to Jenkins functionalities.
