What is CVE-2025-68471?

Avahi, a service discovery system using mDNS/DNS-SD protocols, is susceptible to a denial of service attack. In versions 0.9-rc2 and earlier, an attacker can crash the avahi-daemon by sending two unsolicited CNAME resource record announcements within a 2-second interval. This vulnerability could lead to service interruptions on networks relying on Avahi for local service discovery.
