A vulnerability in BYD's DiLink 3.0 OS permits attackers with physical access to vehicles to circumvent the encryption safeguarding system log dumps. This exposes sensitive information within the logs, such as personally identifiable information (PII) and location data, which can significantly compromise user privacy and security. The vulnerability originated from a prior patch aimed at addressing another security issue.
