What is CVE-2025-71235?

A vulnerability in the QLA2XXX driver of the Linux kernel can lead to system crashes during module unload operations when a fabric scan is in progress. This occurs when a device discovery triggers an interrupt that results in a work queue being scheduled while the driver is in the process of unloading. The interference caused by the unloading flag can prevent necessary memory allocations, resulting in a crash if the memory is freed during the interrupt context. To mitigate this, it is essential to delay the driver unload until the fabric scan completes, allowing for stable system operation.
