What is CVE-2025-71258?

The BMC FootPrints ITSM product suffers from a blind server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability located within the searchWeb API component. This weakness allows authenticated users to manipulate server outbound requests, enabling them to conduct unauthorized internal network scans or access sensitive internal services. The lack of proper URL validation poses a risk to the availability of systems and potential unauthorized access to confidential data. BMC has released several hotfixes to address this issue across multiple affected versions.
