Heap Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in gdk-pixbuf Affecting GNOME
CVE-2025-7345

7.5HIGH

What is CVE-2025-7345?

The gdk-pixbuf library, utilized by various GNOME applications, contains a vulnerability in the gdk_pixbuf__jpeg_image_load_increment function, and also within the Base64 encoding process in glib's g_base64_encode_step. This flaw can be exploited when the library processes specially crafted JPEG files, which may lead to a heap buffer overflow. As a result, attackers can perform out-of-bounds reads from the heap, potentially leading to application crashes and the execution of arbitrary code.
