What is CVE-2025-7998?
The Ashlar-Vellum Cobalt software contains a vulnerability in its CO file parsing capabilities, which is caused by insufficient validation of user-supplied input. This flaw may allow an attacker to perform an out-of-bounds write operation, leading to the potential execution of arbitrary code within the context of the affected process. To exploit this issue, an attacker must entice a user to access a malicious website or open a specially crafted CO file, making user interaction a crucial part of the exploitation process.
