What is CVE-2025-8005?

A critical vulnerability exists in the Ashlar-Vellum Cobalt XE software due to improper validation during the parsing of XE files. This flaw creates an opportunity for remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by compelling the user to visit a malicious webpage or open a compromised file. The attack exploits the type confusion condition that arises from the failure to adequately validate user-supplied data, allowing the execution of code in the context of the current process.
