What is CVE-2025-8639?

A command injection vulnerability in the firmware update process of the Kenwood DMX958XR allows attackers with physical access to execute arbitrary code. The flaw arises from insufficient validation of a user-supplied string prior to its execution in a system call. Consequently, this puts the device at risk as an attacker can run malicious code with root privileges, leading to potential system compromise.
