What is CVE-2025-8698?

A vulnerability affecting Open5GS up to version 2.7.5 allows for a local attacker to exploit the AMF Service through a reachable assertion in the function amf_nsmf_pdusession_handle_release_sm_context. This flaw could potentially compromise system integrity. A patch has been made available (commit: 66bc558e417e70ae216ec155e4e81c14ae0ecf30). It is strongly recommended that users apply the patch to mitigate this risk immediately.
