What is CVE-2025-9725?

The Cudy LT500E device, up to version 2.3.12, contains a vulnerability in its web interface where a hard-coded password is stored, allowing for unauthorized access. This issue necessitates a local exploitation approach and is compounded by the complexity of execution. Although the hard-coded password 'admin' has been deprecated in version 2.3.13, older versions remain susceptible. Users are urged to upgrade to version 2.3.13 to eliminate this security risk, mandating a new password upon the first login, which must contain at least eight characters.

Affected Version(s)

LT500E 2.3.0

LT500E 2.3.1

LT500E 2.3.2

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
