Vulnerability in DPDK GSO Library Affects Packet Processing
CVE-2026-100236
8.6HIGH
What is CVE-2026-100236?
A flaw in the DPDK GSO library allows for potential out-of-bounds read and write vulnerabilities during packet header processing. Specifically, when software GSO attempts to copy packet headers into a new mbuf, it fails to validate that the header fits within both the source's first segment and the destination buffer. If a packet, either remote or supplied by a guest, exceeds the configured GSO segment size, it can lead to an unsafe memory operation, resulting in unpredictable behavior or exploitation. It is crucial for users to apply the latest security patches to mitigate this risk.
