What is CVE-2026-100373?

OpenMetadata versions up to 2.0.2 exhibit a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the URLValidator.validateURL function. This flaw arises from improper DNS hostname resolution and inadequate validation of internal addresses. Users with permissions to create or update EventSubscription can exploit this vulnerability by configuring webhook destinations to point at internal hosts. As a result, the OpenMetadata server could initiate requests to private networks and cloud metadata endpoints, potentially enabling malicious actors to perform blind SSRF probing while receiving HTTP status codes in response.

Affected Version(s)

OpenMetadata 0 <= 2.0.2

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
