Integer Underflow Vulnerability in wolfSSL Packet Sniffer
CVE-2026-1005
2.1LOW
What is CVE-2026-1005?
The wolfSSL packet sniffer versions up to 5.8.4 expose an integer underflow vulnerability that can be exploited by attackers. When a malformed TLS Application Data record is sent, it can cause a problematic buffer overflow in the AEAD decryption path. This occurs because the underflow effectively alters a 16-bit length value, passing a large, incorrect value to decryption routines. As a result, this opens up the potential for remote crashes and could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive information.
