What is CVE-2026-102586?

A security flaw has been identified in Moodle that involves insufficient sanitization of the username input on the password reset page. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack by luring an unauthenticated user to click on a specially crafted password reset link. Consequently, an attacker can run arbitrary scripts in the victim's browser, potentially leading to unauthorized actions or data exposure.
