Arbitrary Command Execution Vulnerability in ZoneMinder CCTV Software
CVE-2026-102608
9CRITICAL
What is CVE-2026-102608?
ZoneMinder, an open-source CCTV application, is vulnerable due to the improper handling of monitor names containing shell metacharacters. Before version 1.38.3, when a user with permission to create or edit monitors stores a name with such characters, and another user with Events View permission attempts to export events, arbitrary commands can execute as the web server user. This flawed implementation allows for a potential security breach where an attacker could manipulate the monitor name to run unauthorized system commands. The vulnerability is resolved in version 1.38.3.
Affected Version(s)
zoneminder >= 1.37.48, < 1.38.3
