What is CVE-2026-103263?

Tornado versions prior to 6.5.9 are susceptible to a path traversal vulnerability in the StaticFileHandler component. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to exploit symbolic links located within the static root directory. If such a symlink points to a location outside of this directory, attackers can potentially gain unauthorized access to sensitive files, including configuration files, private keys, and application secrets that are accessible by the user running the application. Proper validation of file paths is crucial to mitigate this risk.
