What is CVE-2026-103936?

The libp2p networking stack's JavaScript implementation earlier than version 6.0.28 has a denial of service vulnerability due to unauthenticated STUN Binding Requests being processed without validating the required length and character set of the credential. This flaw allows a single remote UDP packet to trigger an uncaught native 'invalid_argument' exception, leading to process termination and denial of service. The issue has been addressed in version 6.0.28, which ensures that credential validation is enforced before processing.

Affected Version(s)

js-libp2p < 3.3.7
