Denial of Service Vulnerability in SSSD by Red Hat
CVE-2026-104035

5.5MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-104035?

A vulnerability in the System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) allows local users to trigger a Denial of Service condition. This issue arises from a flaw in the Kerberos Credential Manager (KCM) responder, where a persistent connection can be maintained by a user, enabling them to repeatedly store and destroy credentials. The failure to release cached objects from memory upon credential removal results in increasing memory consumption, which eventually depletes available memory resources and renders the service unresponsive. This issue highlights the importance of monitoring and managing resource consumption in critical services.
