Memory Consumption Vulnerability in SSSD by Red Hat
CVE-2026-104046
6.2MEDIUM
What is CVE-2026-104046?
A vulnerability has been identified in the System Security Services Daemon (SSSD). When Identity Provider (IdP) authentication is activated, requests for pre-authentication maintain state in memory without being cleared or timed out. This allows a local attacker to repeatedly initiate authentication processes without completing them, leading to unbounded memory consumption. The excessive memory usage can ultimately cause a Denial of Service (DoS), severely degrading or disrupting SSSD authentication services.
