Heap Buffer Overflow in Spice-Server Affects FreeDesktop
CVE-2026-105959

7.5HIGH

What is CVE-2026-105959?

A flaw has been identified in spice-server that allows an authenticated SPICE client to exploit a weakness during virtual machine live migration. This issue arises due to the incorrect handling of memory allocation sizes, where the allocation truncates a size_t value to an int. By sending a specially crafted max_encoders value in migration data, the attacker can trigger a significant heap buffer overflow, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution and compromising the integrity of the affected system.
