What is CVE-2026-106030?

A vulnerability in NordVPN for Windows enables low-privileged local attackers to manipulate unprotected Windows system services through named pipes. By exploiting the NordVPN user-mode application, attackers can connect to the named pipe '\.\pipe\nord-security\v1\NordVpnService\Server' and invoke methods that stop services and alter their startup configuration. This can lead to denial of service for critical system functions, though services protected by Windows are not affected. The issue was addressed in version 8.12.

Affected Version(s)

NordVPN Windows 0 < 8.12
