What is CVE-2026-106433?

Improper state management within the MongoDB libmongocrypt can result in provider-specific data being misinterpreted when handling key documents that possess duplicate masterKey fields. An authenticated user with permissions to modify key vault documents, or a server providing such documents, can exploit this vulnerability, leading to invalid memory access and improper memory frees. Consequently, this could lead to application crashes or memory corruption within the client process.
