What is CVE-2026-106450?

Yawkat LZ4 Java prior to version 1.11.4 contains a memory allocation vulnerability in the 'readHeader()' method of 'net.jpountz.lz4.LZ4FrameInputStream'. Attackers can exploit this by sending specially crafted streams with numerous minimal empty frames, leading to significant memory allocation (up to 8 MiB for every 11 input bytes) without producing any decompressed output. This not only consumes CPU cycles but also places heavy demand on garbage collection, potentially leading to denial of service conditions. The issue is resolved in version 1.11.4.

Affected Version(s)
