What is CVE-2026-106461?

The Backstage plugin-scaffolder-backend prior to version 4.1.0 contains a vulnerability that may allow authenticated internal users to access metadata for scaffolder tasks that should be restricted based on the deployment’s permission policy. Although the task secrets are not exposed in the affected response, this vulnerability can lead to unauthorized visibility of task information, potentially compromising the intended access controls of the application. The issue has been resolved in version 4.1.0.
