What is CVE-2026-107826?

The OWASP Coraza WAF, a Golang-based web application firewall, has a vulnerability in its JSON parsing functionality. This issue arises in versions 3.0.0 through 3.8.1 where the readJSON function may fail to restrain its bounded processing. As a result, an unauthenticated attacker can craft a maliciously formed JSON payload that, while conforming to size constraints, includes deeply nested data structures. This leads to an uncontrolled recursion during validation via gjson.Valid, ultimately causing the hosting application to encounter a fatal stack overflow error and crash. This vulnerability is addressed in version 3.8.1.
