Use-After-Free Vulnerability in Mutter Affects GNOME Sessions
CVE-2026-108094
7.8HIGH
What is CVE-2026-108094?
A use-after-free vulnerability exists in the Mutter compositor affecting the Wayland color-management ICC image-description process. This flaw allows local attackers operating a malicious Wayland client to exploit the system by destroying a wp_image_description_v1 resource while an ICC file read operation is ongoing. Once the read completes, the compositor mistakenly accesses the deallocated memory, potentially leading to crashes of the GNOME session and facilitating the execution of arbitrary code within the compositor process.
