Memory Corruption Vulnerability in RT-Thread USB CDC Virtual COM Port Driver
CVE-2026-108952
5.1MEDIUM
What is CVE-2026-108952?
A memory corruption vulnerability exists in the RT-Thread through version 5.3.0 due to improper handling in the legacy USB CDC virtual COM port driver. This flaw allows a connected USB host to trigger writes beyond the allocated ring buffer, resulting in corruption of struct vcom members. When the connection is closed with an invalid rt_free() operation, it can cause a denial of service, impacting the performance and availability of the RT-Thread system.
