What is CVE-2026-109229?

SGLang versions up to 0.5.21 are susceptible to a denial of service vulnerability, which can be exploited by remote attackers. By manipulating the Image.MAX_IMAGE_PIXELS setting within the NanoNemotronVLImageProcessor, attackers can bypass the Pillow library's decompression bomb protection. This allows them to submit carefully crafted small yet highly compressed images with excessive dimensions, causing a significant memory exhaustion issue during the image decoding process. As a result, the application may become unresponsive, impacting its availability.

Affected Version(s)

sglang 0 <= 0.5.21
