What is CVE-2026-109345?

A cross-site scripting vulnerability exists in DOMPurify versions earlier than 3.4.16, allowing attackers to circumvent necessary sanitization measures. The vulnerability arises in IN_PLACE mode, where a force-removed style element retains its text content, which is susceptible to markup injection. Malicious actors can exploit this by injecting a style element that includes a closing style tag paired with an img onerror payload. This payload enables script execution during the serialization and re-parsing of the node, which poses a significant risk to web applications relying on DOMPurify for content sanitization.
