Denial of Service Vulnerability in Red Hat Enterprise Linux VNC TLS by Gnome Remote Desktop
CVE-2026-109832
7.5HIGH
What is CVE-2026-109832?
A vulnerability exists in Gnome Remote Desktop as part of Red Hat Enterprise Linux due to improper handling of retryable GnuTLS results in the VNC TLS I/O handlers. This flaw leads to an unbounded busy loop when certain conditions occur, allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker with access to a VNC TLS listener to engage the event-loop thread in a high CPU spinning state. The issue results in significant performance degradation and denial of service, ultimately preventing legitimate users from establishing VNC connections.
