Smartcard Emulation Flaw in FreeRDP Product by FreeRDP
CVE-2026-109944
7.1HIGH
What is CVE-2026-109944?
FreeRDP versions 3.0.0 to 3.31.0 exhibit a vulnerability whereby the smartcard-emulation context is not correctly managed during the release process. This oversight can lead to a scenario where a malicious RDP server can exploit the flaw, allowing for the crashing of a connecting client. Specifically, if a server releases a context and subsequently attempts to transmit a command using a stale card handle, it may trigger a terminating assertion in the client, resulting in a denial of service.
