Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability in Clevis Product by Red Hat
CVE-2026-109968
5.5MEDIUM
What is CVE-2026-109968?
A security issue was identified in Red Hat's Clevis PKCS#11 plugin where the clevis-pkcs11-afunix-socket-unlock daemon logs LUKS disk encryption passphrases in plaintext to a log file. This log file is created with insufficient permissions, making it readable by anyone on the system. Consequently, an attacker with local access can easily retrieve sensitive passphrase information, which can lead to unauthorized access to encrypted data.
